Gut healthy drinks. Here is a rough list of recipes for various natural remedies for different gut ailments. Usually, people have already consulted with me to discuss individual issues. Please contact me by email for specific questions. FMurray RN

 

VINEGAR WATER:

MAY STIMULATE THE BODY TO  ALKALINIZE; ANTI-INFLAMMATORY; CLEARS LYMPH GLANDS IN SKIN AND ORGANS; MAY IMPROVE WATER ABSORPTION BY THE BODY TISSUES.

ALL DAY TREATED WATER (DRINK AT LEAST ONE BATCH. I DRINK IT ALL DAY AND NIGHT)

INGREDIENTS
32 0Z 0F PURIFIED WATER (THIS IS for a batch of water. I drink at least 64oz a day even though I probably need more. Divide your weight in pounds by 2 = oz of water per day even if it’s hot or you work out)

ADD:
-JUICE OF WHOLE MED LEMON
-OR 2-4 TSPS OF BRAGG’S ORGANIC UNREFINED APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
-(OPTIONAL) STEVIA TO SWEETEN
-DASH OF CAYENNE PEPPER

OTHER POSSIBLE INGREDIENTS TO BASIC VINEGAR WATER:
-1 TSP OF TURMERIC (FOR PAIN) AND A DASH OF BLACK PEPPER
-SUBSTITUTE  8-12OZ OF FRESH GINGER TEA FOR SOME OF THE WATER FOR INFLAMMATION/COLDS

GINGER TEA:
SLICE GINGER ABOUT THE SIZE OF YOUR PALM ( OR HALF IF YOU ARE A MAN)
INTO THIN SLICES (THE LONGER AND THINNER IS BETTER)
CAN BE UNPEELED.
PLACE IN 32 OZ OF WATER AND COOK IN SLOW-COOKER OVERNIGHT ON LOW.

I drink the treated water with ginger tea as often as possible. You can mix the ginger tea as part of your treated water. I use a whole packet of stevia. Yum!
CINNAMON TEA:

Easy recipe for a refreshing, naturally sweet tea you can make ahead and refrigerate:

3 sticks of cinnamon
2 quarts or so of water
crock pot

cook sticks in water overnight
keep on low

should be a beautiful red color.

Drink and enjoy.

WHEN MAKING HERBAL INFUSIONS, USUALLY WE DO NOT BRING TO A BOIL. THAT DESTROYS THE GOOD STUFF!!

 

BULLETPROOF COFFEE: (from the book by David Asprey) modified

RATIONALE: Caffeine to clear brain fog and rev up your metabolism. Needs to be high quality, organic,minimally processed, low toxin beans, preferably from South America.

MCT oil easily absorbed by brain. Can be expensive. OK to use just coconut oil and butter. ( 15.00 ON AMAZON, NOW BRAND)

Butter (ghee for dairy intolerant) adds good calories that rev the metabolism and decrease hunger.

Coconut oil contains good fats for skin, hair and brain. Can cause loose stools if it is too much.

FATS decrease irritation of gut and provides brain fuel. Can keep appetite down for 3-4 hrs.
YOU NEED:
HIGHEST QUALITY ORGANIC COFFEE BEANS YOU CAN AFFORD. ( I USE KICKING HORSE BRAND Kicking Horse Coffee Kick Ass Dark, Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2-Pound Pouch FROM AMAZON.COM) also at Mother’s
A FRENCH PRESS
COFFEE BEAN GRINDER (PREFERABLY ONE THAT YOU CAN SET THE COARSENESS OF THE GRIND)
VIRGIN UNREFINED COCONUT OIL
GRASS-FED ORGANIC BUTTER OR GHEE (ANCIENT ORGANICS GHEE IS BEST)
A BLENDER WITH A VENTED LID (LOTS OF PRESSURE BUILDS WITH HOT COFFEE)
A GOOD THERMOS IF YOU WANT TO PREPARE IT THE NIGHT BEFORE

INGREDIENTS:
8-16 0z of 190 degree F water
enough coarsely ground coffee for 2 cups–freshly ground
start with 2 tsps of best butter or ghee (can use up to 2 tBS)
start with 2 tps of coconut oil ( can use up to 2 TBS)

OPTIONAL: UP TO 2 TBS MCT OIL (buy in health food store)
Can add 2 tsp turmeric with dash of black pepper
Can add high quality ground cinnamon
Can add ground Reishi mushroom

Make coffee in french press
pre-heat blender with hot water, then drain water
add all fat ingredients to blender
add coffee
add stevia/xylitol (don’t use sugar or honey) or leave it black

BLEND UNTIL COFFEE IS TAN COLORED, AND KEEP WARM
DRINK BEFORE NOON
KEEP YOURSELF ACTIVELY MOVING PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY IF YOU FEEL “WIRED.”  I am about 160 lbs, and I can only handlle 10-12 oz  a day.
